What are Gems?
Gems are socketable items that provide powerful bonuses when inserted into equipment. Each gem has 6 upgrade tiers (Small → Lesser → Greater → Super → Mega → Abyssal), with increasing power at each level.
How to Use Gems
- Find Equipment with Sockets: High-tier equipment can have gem sockets. Look for items with the socket icon.
- Socket a Gem: Right-click the gem in your inventory, then click the equipment piece with an empty socket.
- Upgrade Gems: Use Gem Dust (item 30658) to upgrade gems to higher tiers for better bonuses.
- Remove Gems: Use a Gem Extraction tool (may destroy the gem or cost resources).
- Collect Ornaments: Some gems unlock cosmetic ornaments when you reach certain tiers.
Where to Get Gems
Gems are looted from any Monster or Boss in the game. Higher-tier monsters have better drop rates for higher-tier gems.
Equipment with Gem Sockets
The following equipment types can have gem sockets:
- Weapons: Swords, Axes, Clubs, Bows, Crossbows
- Wands/Rods: Magic weapons for mages
- Armor Pieces: Helmet, Armor, Legs, Boots
- Accessories: Ring, Necklace, Shield, Belt, Gloves
Socket availability depends on item rarity and tier. Legendary and higher rarity items typically have more sockets.
